What's covered

Every repair Appliances City Wide performs is covered for twelve months from the date on your receipt. “Covered” means both sides of the job — the part we replaced and the labour to install it — at no additional cost to you.

The part we replaced

If the specific part we installed fails during the warranty period, we replace it again. This applies to OEM parts and the compatible aftermarket parts we sometimes use when an OEM part is back-ordered or discontinued. Part category doesn't matter — compressors, control boards, motors, valves, sensors, hoses, seals are all covered the same way.

The labour to install it

Warranty return visits carry no call-out fee, no diagnostic fee, and no re-booking fee. We come back on the same service schedule we use for new bookings.

The same fault on the same appliance

If the symptom that brought you to us the first time returns within twelve months, we treat it as a warranty claim even if the diagnosis lands on a different component. You shouldn't have to be a technician to know which part to blame.

What's not covered

The warranty is on our work, not on the appliance itself. A few categories are outside scope:

Misuse, accidents, surge or flood damage

Dropping a dishwasher door, overloading a washer, running a dryer with blocked vents, running a fridge in an unheated garage at -20 °C — these are real failure modes but they aren't warranty claims. If you aren't sure, call before scheduling; we'll tell you honestly.

A different fault on the same appliance

If your fridge compressor fails three months after we replaced the evaporator fan, that's a new repair, not a warranty claim. We'll quote the new work the same way — firm price, approval before any labour, twelve months of coverage on the new component.

Manufacturer recalls and under-warranty parts

Parts subject to a manufacturer recall route through the brand, not through us. Same for appliances still under the original factory warranty on the part that failed — you usually get a better outcome going straight to the manufacturer. Call us first and we'll tell you which path is better for your situation.

How to claim

  1. Find the original receipt.

We email an itemised receipt after every repair. If you can't find it, we can pull it from our records with your name, address, or phone number.

  2. Reach us.

Call 416-436-3182, , or email info@appliancescitywide.com. Tell us the appliance, the symptom, and roughly when the original repair happened.

  3. We verify the claim.

We check the receipt and confirm the repair is inside the 12-month window. If it is, no further paperwork is needed. If it isn't, we'll be upfront about whether the new issue is related and what the quote looks like.

  4. We come back.

Warranty return visits book on the same schedule as new repairs — same-day or next-day across most of the GTA. No call-out fee, no diagnostic fee. The tech replaces the part, tests the appliance, and re-starts the 12-month clock on the new component.

Warranty FAQ.

The specifics people ask most often.

Do I need to keep the receipt?

Ideally yes — the receipt has the repair date, the part installed, and the warranty expiry. If you can't find it we can pull it from our records using your name, address, or phone number.

How long is the coverage?

12 months from the date printed on the original receipt. A warranty return visit re-starts the 12-month clock on the new component only — not on the rest of the appliance.

Does the warranty transfer if I sell the house?

Yes — the warranty follows the appliance and the repair, not the address or the owner. New owners should call with the original receipt if a warranty issue comes up.

Do you sell extended warranty plans?

No. Our 12-month warranty is included with every repair at no additional charge. We don't offer, sell, or recommend third-party extended plans — most of them cost more than another service call would.

What if I need a warranty repair and I'm no longer in the GTA?

Call 416-436-3182 and we'll work it out. Depending on distance we may cover the work with a partner shop near you or refund the labour portion of the original repair proportionally. We don't use distance as an excuse to deny a valid claim.
