What's usually wrong.
Tell us the symptom — we'll narrow it down in chat and send a tech with the right parts.
Not heating at all
Failed heating element, tripped thermal fuse, open wire in the high-voltage circuit, or a control-board fault.
Takes multiple cycles to dry
Clogged dryer exhaust vent, lint-blocked moisture sensor, partial heating-element failure, or worn door seal.
Loud thumping or banging
Worn drum-support rollers, failed drum-glide bearings, or a foreign object trapped between drum and outer cabinet.
Won't start
Failed door switch, broken thermal fuse, control-board fault, or no power to the outlet.
Burning smell during cycle
Lint built up around the heating element, drive-belt slipping on the motor pulley, or a failed motor brush set. Stop using the unit immediately.
Drum won't turn
Broken drive belt, failed drive motor, or seized idler pulley.
From your call to your warranty.
Same flow on every visit — no surprises.
Diagnose
Tech checks airflow at the exhaust, tests the heating element with a multimeter, inspects the drive train, and identifies the failed part.

Frequently asked questions
If yours isn't here, call 416-436-3182 or start a chat.
Do you repair gas dryers?
No — we service electric dryers only. If you have a gas dryer, call a licensed gas technician. We're happy to recommend one when you call 416-436-3182.
How fast can a technician arrive for a broken dryer?
Most cities, same day or next day. Smoking or burning-smell calls get priority — those usually mean lint built up around the heating element and risk a fire. Call 416-436-3182 immediately and stop using the dryer.
Is my dryer not heating because the vent is blocked?
Often, yes. A blocked exhaust vent restricts airflow, which trips the dryer's thermal fuse safety — symptom looks like 'not heating' but the underlying cause is the vent. We check the vent first on every no-heat call. Annual lint cleaning extends dryer life materially and reduces fire risk.
Is it worth repairing a 12-year-old dryer?
Often yes. Dryers have a 13-year average useful life and the most common repairs (heating element, belt, rollers, thermal fuse) run well below the 50% rule threshold. Higher-end dryers with electronic controls and sensor systems are more borderline; ACW Rob will walk you through the math when you call.
What if my dryer is still under manufacturer warranty?
Tell us the brand and the serial number when you call — we'll check whether the manufacturer covers in-warranty repair through their authorized network or through us. If they don't cover it, we'll quote our own repair so you can compare.
