How fast can a technician arrive for a broken dishwasher?

Why won't my dishwasher drain even after I cleared the filter?
If the filter is clean, the next things to check are the drain hose (often kinked behind the unit), the air gap on the sink (clogged with food debris), and the garbage disposal knockout plug if your dishwasher drains through one. If those are all clear, the drain pump itself has likely failed and needs replacing — a 30–45 minute job.
Does my hard water shorten my dishwasher's life?
Yes — measurably. In York Region and rural-well parts of the GTA we see dishwasher pumps and heating elements fail 30–50% sooner than in softer-water markets like Toronto or Peel. Annual descaling helps; a whole-home softener helps more. We can quote either during the same visit.
Is it worth repairing a 9-year-old dishwasher?
Borderline. Dishwashers have a 9-year average useful life, so by year 9 you're at the inflection point of the 50% rule. Cheap repairs (drain pump, door seal) usually still pencil out; expensive ones (control board, wash pump assembly) often don't. ACW Rob will walk you through the math when you call.
What if my dishwasher is still under manufacturer warranty?
Tell us the brand and the serial number when you call — we'll check whether the manufacturer covers in-warranty repair through their authorized network or through us. If they don't cover it, we'll quote our own repair so you can compare.
